Dark Fleet is a collective responsibility

All stakeholders must have willpower to take actions that prevent dark fleet vessels from coming into port. Ships can be profiled before they come into port. Enhanced inspection can be done by examining AIS spoofing, ship-to-ship transfers, and checking for verifiable P&I coverage, among other factors. Thereafter, when the ships come into port, an enhanced inspection can be done. Although sanctions on Russia have been imposed only by G7 countries, the many countries that have agreed to these sanctions, should also comply. It is the duty of every single port and every flag country to prevent the dark fleet from flourishing, and enforcement has to be swift, robust and continuous.
